For the second time in just a little over two years, the swing era was alive and well inside of the Emporia Granada Theatre this weekend thanks to one of the most popular big bands in the world.
Audio PlayerThe Glenn Miller Orchestra returned to the Granada stage for the second time since February of 2023, bringing its classic big band feel that had every toe tapping inside the theatre Saturday night. Originally formed in 1938, the Glenn Miller Orchestra is one of the longest-running big bands in existence, having been so for nearly 70 years now.
The evening’s performance included several classic songs and sounds that brought audience members back to the swing era.
The Granada will not have much downtime following the Orchestra’s appearance as it is gearing up for the final installment of the 2025 Emporia Arts Council’s Performing Arts Series later this week. Friday will see the theatre welcome Good Co. and its Ultimate Dance Party at 7 pm.
