Interviews continue as the Emporia Recreation Commission looks to fill its director position.
On Tuesday, current Interim Director and longtime Assistant Director for Operations Amanda Gutierrez will interview, along with former Deerfield Park, Illinois, facility program manager John Mark Woolums. A public meet-and-greet session takes place at 5:30 pm at the Lee Beran Recreation Center as part of the interview process for both candidates.
These two interviews follow an interview last week with Fred Lowery, the Superintendent at Hilton Head Island Recreation in South Carolina. The chosen candidate will replace longtime director Tom McEvoy, who retired in December after almost 40 years in local public recreation work.
