The Flint Hills Technical College Culinary Arts program fared very well in the recent SkillsUSA competition.
Bailey Johnson was first in Culinary Arts, while Jayden Mosley-Cannon was second in Baking and Pastries.
The SkillsUSA contest is designed to have students demonstrate several skills in pressure-based settings, including culinary knowledge, creativity and technical skills. Industry professionals then grade participants on items like food preparation, presentation, safety and taste.
