Earth Day activities are taking place Saturday in Emporia.
Once again, Emporia State’s Prophet Aquatic and Research Outreach Center has activities connected to an event at the David Traylor Zoo. Activities at PAROC are from 10 am to noon, and Outreach and Engagement Coordinator Alexandra Hayes says the event will be busy from start to finish.
There will also be educational tables, trash and recycling stations, plant and bake sales among other features. Participants who visit all the booths will be eligible for various prizes.
The zoo’s Party for the Planet activities go from 1-3 pm Saturday. Outreach Coordinator Kelli Proehl:
Admission is free to both events.
Officially, Earth Day is Tuesday — and more than a billion people have activities available worldwide to learn more about protecting the environment.
