Two area schools hosted track and field invitationals on Thursday. Northern Heights, Marais des Cygnes Valley, Olpe, and Osage City competed in the Travis Sheeley Memorial Invitational in Allen. Chase County, Burlingame, Hartford, Madison, and Waverly competed in the Tim Griffin Relays in Cottonwood Falls.
Travis Sheeley Memorial Invitational
The Northern Heights girls took second with 139 points. Avery Patton won the 200m (27.66). Josie Tiffany won the 800m (2:44.68) and took second in the 1,600m (6:25.61). GraceAnn Cathcart finished second in the 400m (1:09.82) and was third in the 800m (2:51.45). Laura Cathcart won the 3,200m (14:57.42). Addisyn Hinrichs took third in the 100m hurdles (18.38) and was third in the 300m hurdles (55.84). The 4x400m relay team won its race in 4:46.84. The 4x800m relay team won its race in 12:05.54. Reese Houck won the high jump (4-10). Addisen Petersen won the pole vault (8-0). Megan Allen finished second in the javelin (84-2).
The Northern Heights boys finished fourth with 94 points. Harlan Badger finished third in the 400m (58.89). Rees Spade won the 800m (2:16.02) and the 1,600m (5:06.38). Cooper Spade finished third in the 1,600m (5:16.90) and won the 3,200m (11:50.08). The 4x400m relay team finished third (4:06.09). The 4x800m relay team won its race in 9:45.07. Henry Sheeley finished third in the triple jump (34-11). Leo DeDonder finished second in the pole vault (10-0). Kelton Bish took third in the javelin (138-3).
The MdCV girls finished fourth with 63 points. Akyra Traver won the 100m hurdles (17.23), took second in the triple jump (29-3.50) and took second in the 300m (52.60). Taytum Gellhaus finished third in the 100m (14.03). Emily Criqui finished third in the 200m (29.77) and was third in the long jump (14-7.25). The 4x100m relay team won their race in 56.99.
The MdCV boys finished sixth with 44 points. Landon Traver won the 100m (12.09), the long jump (20-4), the triple jump (39-0) and took second in the 200m (24.66). Trae Walker in the discus (99-0).
The Olpe girls finished fifth with 62 points. The 4x400m relay team finished third (5:15.55). Reagan Geiger took third in the high jump (4-6). Hana Cole finished third in the shot put (30-11.75), took second in the discus (93-6) and won the javelin (96-3).
The Olpe boys finished fifth with 62 points. Jesse Kuhlmann finished second in the 800m (2:16.37). William Beadles finished second in the 3,200m (12:07.93). The 4x100m relay team finished second (50.04). The 4x400m relay team finished second (4:03.02).
The Osage City girls finished third with 78 points. The 4x100m relay team finished third (1:05.44). The 4x400m relay team finished second (5:08.85). The 4x800m relay team finished second (14:27.65). Harper Koenig took second in the pole vault (7-0) while Bella DeCock finished third (5-6). Chenoah Fendley won the shot put (31-11).
The Osage City boys won the meet with 112 points. Luke Orender finished third in the 100m (12.38). Logan White finished second in the 110m hurdles (19.44). The 4x100m relay team won its race (49.32). The 4x800m relay team finished second (10:37.80). Colton Collins finished third in the long jump (17-1) and second in the triple jump (35-2). Daitlyn Meek won the pole vault (10-6), while Mathew Leonard finished third (9-0). Gunnar Tincher finished third in the shot put (36-4.75) and took second in the javelin (138-4).
Tim Griffin Relays
The Chase County boys finished third with 87 points. Carson Schroer won the 800m (2:11.05). Maddex Beyer won the triple jump (40-5) and was third in the long jump (18-7.25). Austin Andersen finished second in the 100m (11.96) and took third in the high jump (5-6). Luke Budke finished second in the pole vault (11-6) and took third in the 100m (12.06). Tate Morgan finished second in the 1,600m (5:17.88). The 4x100m relay and 4x800m relay teams each finished second.
The Chase County girls finished fourth with 65 points. Madelyn Wilson swept the throwing events winning the discus (110-7), the shot put (37-0.75) and the javelin (123-9). The 4x100m relay team finished third (57.22) and the 4x800m relay finished third (12:56.90).
The Hartford boys finished ninth with 18 points. Cody Cleveland won the 1,600m (5:17.62) and took second the 3,200m (11:43.81).
The Madison boys finished fifth with 38 points. Octavian Dean won the 110m hurdles (17.69) and took third in the 300m (46.61). Colton Isch won the high jump (5-8). Cruz Leiser finished third in the pole vault (10-0).
The Madison girls finished sixth with 39 points. Jalynn Weakley won the high jump (4-8) and was second the javelin (119-3). Lily Hudson finished second in the 3,200m (14:12.91) and was third in the 1,600m (6:29.59).
The Burlingame girls finished ninth with 17 points. Willow Wyatt finished second in the 100m (14.68) and took third in the 400m (1:08.09).
The Burlingame boys finished 10th with 10 points. Parker Haid finished third in the shot (42-10).
The Waverly girls finished 10th with 13 points. Jasmynn Betray finished third in the 800m (2:48.47).
The Waverly boys finished sixth with 36 points. Maxwell McNabb won the 400m (53.63) and took second in the 200m (24.69). Ty Glissman finished second in the triple jump (40-2).
