The Emporia High baseball team snapped a 3-game losing streak with a sweep at Topeka High on Friday. EHS won the first game 12-0 and completed the sweep with a 20-0 victory in game two. In game one, the Spartans scored two each in the first and sixth innings, added five in the third and three in the fourth. Owen Ruge got the win on the mound, going four shutout innings and striking out nine. Colton Eubanks threw a shutout fifth, with him and Ruge combining for a no-hitter. Andrew Ruxton drove in four, Madden Seidl drove in two while Chase Harrington went 2-for-3 at the plate. In game two, the Spartans scored three in the first, nine in the third and eight in the fourth to complete the sweep. Harrington allowed one hit in three innings and had nine strikeouts and went 1-for-2 with three RBIs at the plate. Seidl, Ruxton and Caydrick Crouch each drove in two. Emporia High (9-4, 5-3) travels to McPherson for a quad on Tuesday. The Spartans open up against Great Bend.
