Emporia State Federal Credit Union is alerting members to an ongoing scam effort.
According to a news release from the credit union on Friday, scammers have been contacting members impersonating ESFCU employees. The scammers are believed to be cloning the credit union’s phone number and contacting members seeking sensitive and personal information as well as debit and credit card numbers.
ESFCU says it will never ask for members’ personal information, credit or debit card numbers in this way. If you receive a call you believe to be a scam, you are asked to hang up and call ESFCU immediately at 620-342-2336.
ESFCU also offered some helpful reminders to keep your information safe and secure.
