Four area athletes competed on the final day of the KU Relays on Saturday. The top finish came from Northern Heights’ Jaitlyn Johnson, who finished 13th in the discus with a toss of 122-8. Emporia High had three athletes compete. After finishing third in the triple jump on Friday, Emporia High’s Paige Newland finsihed 20th in the long jump (16-10.75). Chance Duncan finished 21st in the javelin (154-1) after taking 12th in the discus on Friday. Brody Duncan finished 24th in the long jump (20-0.25). Emporia High returns to Lawrence on Friday for the Free State Barrier Breakers Invite.
