Emporia High will be searching for its third football coach in four years.
Emporia High Athletic Director Beau Welch confirmed with KVOE Wednesday afternoon that Kaden Glinsmann has resigned after two seasons as head coach.
Glinsmann said there were several deciding factors on why he wanted to step down now.
Glinsmann came to Emporia after spending four seasons at Polson, Montana. The Pirates went 27-12 in his four seasons as head coach. He turned a 4-5 team into a 10-1 team from his second to third season. Prior to Polson, he was an assistant coach at Carroll College (Mont) in 2018 and briefly was an assistant at Bethel College in Newton. Glinsmann was an assistant at Wichita Heights from 2015-2017. Prior to that, Glinsmann spent five seasons at Helena High School (Mont.).
Glinsmann was hired in May 2023 to lead the Spartans after Keaton Tuttle resigned after two seasons. Glinsmann finishes his two seasons at Emporia High 0-18 and has an overall record of 27-30 in six seasons.
Glinsmann said being the head football coach at Emporia High was humbling seeing what the program has accomplished in the past.
Welch said a search for the next football coach has begun.
Emporia High will open the 2025 season with its new coach on Sept. 5 against Pittsburg. The Spartans will be searching for their first win since October 28, 2022.
