Trial is the next step in a Lyon County rape case. And it’s coming soon.
Barring a last-minute schedule adjustment, jury selection is set to begin Monday in the case against Russell Paul Patterson Jr, following a trial status hearing Wednesday. Trial is tentatively set to last all next week.
Patterson was arrested in August 2024 and subsequently charged with rape, aggravated human trafficking and commercial sexual exploitation of a child after an alleged incident in late July 2024. The alleged victim was no older than 17 years of age at the time of the alleged incident.
