Barricaded roadways reopen Monday following flooding rainfall from late last week

Drivers are reminded it is illegal to drive around barricades on roads and are asked not to drive through flooded roadways if they come across them. KVOE News file photo.



The Lyon County Highway Department has reopened several roadways following heavy rainfall from this past Thursday.

Monday afternoon, the Highway Department announced barricades had been removed from the following locations:

*Road 150 from Kansas Highway 99 to Road J
*Road J between Roads 140 and 150
*Road K between Roads 140 and 150

The road closures came after thunderstorms dumped anywhere from trace amounts to upwards of two-plus inches of rainfall across the listening area Thursday evening into Friday morning.
