An earlier start didn’t affect the Emporia High girls soccer team against Wichita Heights Monday evening. Six different players scored goals in an 8-0 victory over the Falcons.
Emporia High scored twice in the first half with goals by Aracely Aleman and Emersyn Johnson. In the second half, the Lady Spartans got two goals from Katie Smart and goals from Peyton Chanley, Acelyn Farrell, Karla Morales and Deysi Coon. Chanley said she’s starting to gain more confidence being another scorer for the Lady Spartans.
Reagan Herrman recorded her third consecutive shutout in goal. Hermann said she’s couldn’t record a clean sheet without the help of her teammates.
Head coach Oscar Macias said there’s still things he wants to see from his team.
Emporia High (7-4) hosts Liberal at 6:15 p.m. Thursday.
