The Lady Hornets scored five runs in the third on the way to a 7-1 win over Fort Hays State in the first round of the MIAA Softball Tournament in Hays, Kan. on Wednesday. The first run in the third came across on a bases loaded walk before Ally Miller and Juliana De Luna each drove in a pair of runs on singles. Two more runs scored in the fifth on an Avery Brewer single. Jordan Harrison (16-7) went 5.0 innings to pick up the win and didn’t give up a run. Miller finished 2-for-3 with 3 RBIs. ESU (31-22) faces the regular season champion Central Oklahoma Thursday at 11:00 a.m.
