A major change for Lyon County Area Transportation services will see consideration from Lyon County Commissioners during their regular action meeting Thursday morning.
Towards the end of the agenda, commissioners will consider a presentation and possibly give direction to LCAT Director Shane Brunner regarding the possible cessation of the deviated-fixed route system and operating as an on-demand-only service beginning July 1.
Other items for consideration will include a pair of purchase requests from Lyon County Engineer Chip Woods for steel piping from Gateway Pipe, Inc. for just over $20,500. The second request, totaling more than $33,000, will be for the purchase of one tank car and ten plates from Railroad Yard Inc.
IT Director Jean Barnett and Jamie Williams will also seek an amendment to a purchase request for MFA hardware and software due to a price change from $22,654.40 to $22,854.40. The new software and hardware will be for 120 county computers.
Additionally, the IT Department will submit a request to renew the Courthouse SonicWall firewall license for three years for more than $6,600. Lyon County Emergency Communications Center Director Roxanne Van Gundy will also submit an out-of-state travel request for Deputy Director Sarah Jensen and Alex Smith to attend the 2025 NENA conference and Expo in Long Beach, California.
