The Emporia High girls soccer team had its three-match winning streak snapped in a 3-1 loss to Liberal on Thursday night.
The Lady Red struck first, but EHS responded when Keilara Owens knotted the match at 1, scoring off a rebound on a corner kick. Liberal had an immediate response to the Lady Spartan score and added its third and final goal in the 48th minute. Head Coach Oscar Macias said the Lady Spartans’ adjustments came later than earlier in the match.
Emporia High (7-5) travels to Washburn Rural on Tuesday.
