Emporia Fire responded to a possible gas leak in central Emporia before sunrise Thursday.
Fire crews went to the 1100 block of Congress shortly before 5:15 am after a smell of gas was reported in an apartment unit. Investigation results have not been divulged, but early indications are another substance led to the questionable smell.
No injuries were reported.
