The Emporia High track and field teams recorded 20 first place finishes at the Shawnee Heights Invitational on Friday.
The Lady Spartans won 13 out of 18 events. Paige Newland won the long jump with a mark of 17-10.5 and the triple jump with a leap of 38-1.75. Harley Smith won the 100m in 12.36 and the 200m in 26.00. Emma Beatty won the 800m in 2:30.22, while Ivanna Orduno finished third (2:38.08). Beatty also won the 1,600m in 5:35.55, while Madison Evans took third (5:53.94). Evans won the 3,200m in 12:41.91 while Allison Curtis finished second (13:14.09). Kaylee DeWitt won the 300m hurdles in 49.45 while Elise Eckert finished second (51.58). The 4x100m relay team of Reagan Thompson, Smith, DeWitt and Newland won its race in 52.05. The 4x400m relay team of Thompson, Smith, DeWitt, and Samantha Scobee won its race in 4:30.53. The 4x800m relay team of Beatty, Bailee VanSickle, Orduno, and Amelia Lowery won its race in 12:29.85. Jade Xu won the high jump, clearing 4-10. Micah Huber won the pole vault, clearing 8-0.
Reagan Thompson finished second in the 400m (1:05.78) while Isabella Hinst finished third (1:07.33). Eckert finished second in the 100m hurdles (17.16) while Molly Rusco took third (18.07). Rusco finished second behind Newland in the long jump (16-0.25), while Taylor Olson took third (14-6). Sadie Rethman took second in the javelin (80-11) and was third in the discus (95-10).
The Spartans won seven of 18 events.
Gavin Jennings won the 100m with a time of 11.31. Gideon Lowery won the 3,200m (10:29.74), while Xaden Delgado finished second (10:31.24). RJ Tabares won the 110m hurdles (14.81) and took second in the 300m hurdles (41.37). The 4x100m relay team of Harry Trelc, Brody Duncan, Collins, and Tabares won its race in 44.51. Kael Bloomquist won the high jump clearing 5-10. Chance Duncan won the discus with a throw of 149-0 and the javelin with a mark of 161-10 and also finished third in the shot put (45-0).
Kasen VanSickle finished second in the 800m (2:08.90). Brody Duncan finished second in the long jump (20-6). Cohen Bloomquist finished second in the pole vault (9-6). Trelc finished third in the 100m (11.54). Lowery finished third in the 1,600m (4:46.70). Ben Colins finished third in the 110m hurdles (16.31) and also was third in the 300m hurdles (44.10). The 4x400m relay team of Tabares, Trelc, Jennings and Kael Bloomquist finished third (3:38.10).
Emporia High will travel to Towanda for the Circle Invitational on Thursday.
