One person was taken to Newman Regional Health for treatment after a two-vehicle crash near Olpe early Monday morning.
The crash happened shortly before 5 am in the 900 block of Kansas Highway 99, or close to two miles north of Olpe and about six miles south of Emporia. Lyon County Deputy Nathan Rankin says a southbound car driven by 52-year-old Leslie Gallichio of Madison went left of center and hit a northbound pickup driven by 45-year-old John Trear of Olpe.
Trear was taken by ambulance to Newman Regional with suspected minor injuries.
The crash remains under investigation.

Lyon County deputies are investigating after an injury crash between Emporia and Olpe early Monday.
Deputies and Emporia Fire responded to the 900 block of Kansas Highway 99 around 5 am after two vehicles collided. Deputy Nathan Rankin says one vehicle went left of center on the highway and struck the other. One of the two drivers suffered potentially minor injuries and was taken by ambulance to Newman Regional Health. The other driver declined a hospital trip.
