There’s still time for community members to get their orders in for Denim & Diamonds’ annual BBQ lunch.
The lunch is set for Thursday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and will be a drive thru event at Entrance F on the east side of Newman Regional Health. The lunch is $10 for a pulled pork sandwich, chips, apples, a Hostess treat, BBQ sauce and a bottle of water.
Public Relations and Outreach Specialist Kacie Hastings says they’re halfway toward their fundraising goal for the lunch.
The BBQ is the second fundraiser for Denim & Diamonds, with the benefit golf tournament being held on Friday. The Denim & Diamonds Benefit Gala is set for August 1 at the Emporia State Memorial Union, with tickets set to go on sale on July 1.
Hastings says proceeds from this year’s fundraisers will go to the WS & EC Jones Cardiovascular Laboratory to update equipment in the area.
