A new preliminary hearing date is set in a Lyon County drug distribution case.
The move from Monday to June 16 in the case against William Walters followed a state motion to delay the hearing in order to prepare a transport order as Walters is in Department of Corrections custody, as well as a defense motion to dismiss the case outright. Judge Doug Jones granted the state request but denied the defense motion Monday.
Walters is charged with distributing up to 450 grams of marijuana, illegal use of a communication facility to distribute marijuana, possession of both methamphetamine and paraphernalia and criminal possession of a weapon by a felon.
