The Emporia High girls swim and dive team finished second at the Topeka High Invitational on Tuesday. Emporia High finished with 353 points, 33 points behind team champion Washburn Rural.
Allie Weiss won the diving portion of the meet with a personal best score in the 11-dive meet of 512.85. The 200-yard freestyle relay team of Taryn Woydziak, Ava Podrebarac, Brooke Monroe and Camryn Spafford finished third (1:59.98). Ava Podrebarac finished third in the 200-yard individual medley (3:06.01). Connelly Prouse finished fourth in the 500-yard freestyle (7:31.60) while Ellie Grimmett finished fifth (7:42.23). Makaelyn Haag finished fifth in the 200-yard freestyle (2:43.42). The 400-yard freestyle relay team of Monroe, Prouse, Woydziak and Spafford finished fifth (4:39.86). Emporia High is off until next Thursday when it travels back to Topeka for the Centennial League Championships.
