Five local organizations will be benefiting from grant funding through the Emporia Community Foundation and Trusler Foundation, as announced Friday.
In a news release from the foundation, it was announced that more than $117,000 in Trusler Foundation Grants had been awarded to five organizations across the local area to benefit a variety of community improvement projects. The list of recipients includes:
*Crosswinds Counseling & Wellness – $10,000 in support of the Improving Summer Food Access program.
*Olpe Community Improvement Inc. – $50,000 toward phase 2 of the Olpe Fitness Park project.
*Symphony in the Flint Hills, Inc. – $15,000
*Toledo Township, Chase County – $35,000 for the installation of a heating and cooling system in the Saffordville Community Center gymnasium and meeting room.
*USD 252 Southern Lyon County – $7,500 for the Animal Health and Veterinary Science Curriculum.
The Trusler Foundation, which is managed by ESB Financial, distributes the grants annually in partnership with ECF. The grants are awarded to projects which bring positive impacts to communities within Chase, Coffey and Lyon Counties and are to be used for charitable, religious, scientific, literary and educational purposes.
