The Emporia High softball team needed just three innings to finish the Emporia Softball Classic 2-0 on Saturday against Life Prep, 16-1.
The Lady Spartans scored nine of their 16 runs in the first inning. Highlighting the first inning included a 2-run double by Bailey Schlesener, a 2-run triple by Yzabel Ultreras and a 2-run inside the park home run by Adreil Aguillar. Atlyn Heffron went 2-for-2 with a double and two RBIs. Heffron said it was great to get another win.
Emporia High coach Tommy McClure said Friday’s confidence carried over into Saturday.
Emporia High (8-14) hosts Manhattan for a makeup doubleheader at 4 p.m. Monday at Peter Pan Park.
