Emporia’s Peter Pan Park will be a busy place for one main attraction this summer.
The park’s splash pad opened for the season at noon Monday. Emporia Director of Public Lands and Facilities Kevin Hanlin says the pad is setup and ready to go after closing down for the season in October.
Hours for the Splash Pad are Noon to 8 p.m. on Mondays and 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday through Sunday.
Hanlin says it’s important to have the splash pad at Peter Pan Park because of its accessibility and ease of use for patrons. Hanlin says it also gives community members an opportunity to utilize the splash pad, with the Jones Aquatic Center not opening until Memorial Day weekend.
