Announced several months ago, construction gets rolling again at the Emporia Pavilions this week.
Crews have been clearing space and performing early dirt work on the east side of the shopping complex and just east of Old Navy, one of the latest stores to be added. Developer Spencer Thomson tells KVOE News PetSmart and Ulta Beauty will see footings installed starting this week, with an eye towards store openings by spring 2026.
The round of work was announced in October and represents Round 4 of construction at the Pavilions at 24th and Industrial, following original construction to bring Hobby Lobby to Emporia in 2017. Phase 2 stores include Marshalls, Ross Dress for Less and Shoe Dept Encore in 2022 and 2023. Old Navy, Maurices and Five Below were Phase 3 stores last summer and fall.
This leaves about 6,000 square feet of retail space still available immediately west of Hobby Lobby. Thomson continues conversations with possible restaurants.
