The Emporia State track & field team is sending ten to the NCAA Division II Outdoor Track & Field Championships in Pueblo, Colo. Nine Hornets will represent the men’s team led by freshman Kole Manley and sophomore Brooks Lowe, both in the top 10 nationally in the javelin. Jonah Remsberg made the field with the eighth-best score in the country in the decathlon this season after finishing 11th in the nation in the heptathlon at the indoor championships. Ty Anderson will run the 100m dash and compete in the long jump for the Hornets while Max Neely qualified with a top 15 mark in the pole vault. Emmanuel Dukpe will also be pulling double duty for the Hornets racing in the 400m dash and in the 4x400m relay. He’ll be joined on the relay by Bryson Turner, Israel Domeh, and Braden Lipgens. Abigael Reid is the lone Lady Hornet to make the field for Emporia State. She qualified with a sub-one minute time in the women’s 400m hurdles and won the MIAA championship in the event. Action will begin with the multi events for Remsberg on Thursday, May 22 with the final day of the meet set for Saturday, May 24.
