Medical helicopters operated by LifeSave in Emporia and other Kansas locations are getting an equipment upgrade.
LifeSave Kansas says both medical helicopters and fixed-wing planes are adding ZOLL AutoPulse automated CPR devices. The new technology lets flight clinicians deliver CPR uninterrupted and consistently as they wear seat belts in “critical phases of flight.” The new automated CPR devices are designed to work with existing onboard ventilators.
Air Methods, LifeSave’s parent company, says it worked closely with ZOLL during the development process. AutoPulse NXT was released last year and started getting added to Air Methods bases last month. Besides Emporia, the new AutoPulse equipment is being added at Wichita, Garden City and Liberal.
