Over 30 community groups in and near Lyon County are part of Match Day 2025.
In fact, 35 groups are involved, as announced on KVOE as part of a live presentation at Flinthills Mall. Also, over 10 funds, foundations and private entities are contributing $175,000 in matching funds for the event Nov. 17. Community Foundation CEO Linda Kehres-Schmidt says the general fundraising goal is to build on past successes.
Applications were submitted to the Emporia Community Foundation’s Match Day Committee for review in March. Participating groups must have operating budgets under $175,000. They also have to have their headquarters in the seven counties served by the Community Foundation and they must have funds established with the Community Foundation.
Following last year’s efforts, over $3.8 million has been generated over the last 11 years for area nonprofits through Match Day. More information is available at emporiamatchday.com.
