The Kansas Department of Transportation has a sign replacement project taking place on an area highway northeast of Emporia.
KDOT is replacing signs along US Highway 56 from near the Lyon-Osage county line through and east of Overbrook. Activity is set to begin Thursday, with traffic restricted to one lane and directed through the work zone by flaggers. KDOT says work will take place during daylight hours and drivers can expect delays of up to 15 minutes.
Work could well continue for most of May.
Work dates and locations
*Thursday: Between Road Z and Docking Road.
*May 20: Between Docking and Valencia roads, and Boyle Street to Burlingame Avenue in Scranton.
*May 21: Between Adams and Paulen roads.
*May 22: Between Ratner Road and Western Heights Drive.
*May 27-28: Between Stanley and Woodring roads.
