Car enthusiasts will want to make their way to downtown Emporia on Saturday, as the Flatland Cruisers annual car show will take over the corridor.
The 31st annual car show will take place from 9 am to 3 pm from 8th to 12th on Commercial Street, featuring all forms of vehicles including cars, trucks, motorcycles and more, according to organizer and local car lover Pastor Kent Happel, who recently joined KVOE’s Morning Show to preview the event. In addition to the wide variety of vehicles, the event will include food trucks, Hot Wheels races, a silent auction, raffles and a new poker walk for car show participants.
Speaking of new, Happel also noted the car show will be adding new awards to the event this year.
Happel is hoping for another record turnout for this year’s event after last year’s show saw a record 218 cars turn up. Pre-registration for the show is closed, however, those wishing to participate can register on the event day. The cost to register is $20 per vehicle, with registration beginning at 9 am.
