The Emporia High softball team’s season ended in an 8-0 loss to Salina Central in Salina on Tuesday.
Salina Central did most of its damage breaking a scoreless game in the third inning with three runs and adding a pair of runs in the fourth and three in the sixth. Emporia High was held to just two hits in the game. The Lady Spartans’ biggest threat in the game was in the sixth when they had the bases loaded but couldn’t get a runner home. Alivia Barrett went six innings, allowing eight runs on 15 hits and five strikeouts.
Emporia High’s season ends at 10-17 and graduates three seniors, Bailey Schlesener, Ryane Howe, and Juilanna Hamlin.
