An incumbent has filed to retain their seat on the USD 252 Board of Education.
Wednesday afternoon, Melissa Carson filed for re-election to the position three seat. Carson is the first candidate, newcomer or incumbent, to file for election to the school board this election cycle.
Also up for election this year are position 2, held by Ryan Gasche, position 4, held by Brad Hoelting and position 6, held by Timothy Bailey. The filing and withdrawal deadline is at noon June 2.
If needed, a primary election will be held Aug. 5. The general election is Nov. 4.
