The Kansas Highway Patrol didn’t make an SUV driver “walk the plank” after a recent traffic incident on US Highway 50 near Emporia, but it is using the interaction as a safety reminder.
The Highway Patrol says it stopped the SUV, which was carrying a lengthy wooden board out of a driver’s side window. The part extending out of the window nearly hit a truck tractor in a two-lane construction zone, according to the Highway Patrol.
Troopers say no part of a given load can extend past a vehicle on the driver’s side.
The Highway Patrol hasn’t specified the date for this traffic stop. It also hasn’t said whether it issued a citation in this case.
