Lyon County commissioners are looking at purchase agreements as a key part of their action meeting Thursday.
Commissioners will get a presentation from Emergency Communications Director Roxanne Van Gundy on a possible purchase of Rapid Notifications through Motorola Solutions, allowing email or text notifications about certain emergency incidents. The projected cost is just under $18,000 to be split between Emporia Police, ESU Police and Safety and the 911 Service Funds Contractual Services account.
Separately, IT Director Jean Barnett will present a request to purchase a software package at cost of $8,500 from Civia Inc. If approved, this would bring a GovAI artificial intelligence assistant package to Lyon County.
In unrelated matters, Controller Dan Williams will request 40 tables for the Fairgrounds Anderson Building from MITYLITE at an estimated cost of nearly $14,000. Also, Unbound Gravel Race Director Sean Thurman will request the use of a pilot car program for riders and motorists using Burlingame Road between 18th and Road 190 during Unbound activities next week.
The meeting starts at 9 am at the Lyon County Courthouse Commission Chambers.
