One out, one in.
Flinthills Mall Manager Clarence Frye has confirmed the upcoming closure of Shoe Sensation by early June, although the business will continue to make its lease payments through July. The closure comes while Gilded Fates, a card and board game business, is set to open in the mall next month — in the former space occupied by Bling, which closed earlier this year.
The Shoe Sensation closure follows Maurices moving to Emporia Pavilions this past fall, as well as outright closures of Buckle and Bling early this year. Local management recently directed KVOE News to its corporate headquarters for answers. Corporate has not responded.
Frye says conversations continue with possible new tenants, and one unspecified current tenant is looking to expand inside the mall. He also says he has had some conversations with recent Mi Negocio graduates about possibly starting their retail businesses at the mall.
