Following a damage survey, the National Weather Service has confirmed one tornado touchdown in central Wabaunsee County on Monday.
The Weather Service says the tornado touched down six miles south-southeast of Volland and traveled just over a third of a mile before lifting. The tornado, which caused some tree damage near a residential property and crossed Kansas Highway 4 before dissipating, was rated an EF-0 with maximum winds of 80 mph.
The Wabaunsee County Sheriff’s Office had noted two potential touchdowns, one east of Alta Vista and one outside Eskridge.
