There are low-end prospects for severe weather Friday and Saturday.
Friday’s forecast calls for showers in the afternoon. The National Weather Service also says there is an isolated chance for a severe storm from late afternoon through the overnight hours, with wind and hail as the primary hazards. There is a marginal-to-slight severe weather risk in store Friday, with areas along and south of a line from Dwight to Reading to Halls Summit in the slight risk area.
Saturday has a chance of showers and storms all day, with a marginal risk for wind and hail.
Rounds of rainfall could also lead to an increased risk of flooding. There is currently a marginal to slight risk for flash flooding areawide both Saturday and Sunday. Much of the KVOE listening area could see at least 1.5 inches of rain through Sunday, and the Weather Service has singled out the Cottonwood, Neosho and Marais des Cygnes river basins and tributaries for possible flood impacts.
