Records are meant to be broken, and records were definitely broken at Unbound Gravel 2025.
Cameron Jones of New Zealand won the Elite Men’s 200 in 8 hours, 37 minutes and nine seconds, topping Lachlan Morton’s previous record of 9:11:47 last year. He says the race was in doubt until the push up Highland Hill. He was also relieved his win secured a spot in the Life Time Grand Prix.
Winning the Elite Women’s 200 was Karolina Migon of Czech Republic. Like Jones, she broke away from other leaders late to win.
Migon’s time was 10 hours, three minutes and 54 seconds. Rosa Ki of Denmark won last year’s race in 10:26:02.
Rob Britton of Canada won the XL 350 men’s race in 17 hours, 49 minutes and 51 seconds. He says his work after dark helped him to win.
Britton beat Sebastian Breuer’s prior record of 20 hours, five minutes and 36 seconds.
And Heather Jackson of Oregon won the XL 350 women’s race in 20:57:57, beating the 2024 finish of Svenja Betz in 23:46:57. She says “a lot happened on the course” in her first XL.
While these riders came across the finish line in record time, some in the field of better than 5,000 riders got to downtown Emporia well after midnight.
For Life Time Grand Prix riders, the next race is the Life Time Leadville Trail 100 on Aug. 9 in Leadville, Colorado.
