The Lyon County Planning and Appeals Board has one action item for its monthly meeting this week.
Board members will hear more discussions about a proposed quarry in the 100 block of Road 140 as proposed by leaseholder Rockland Stone. This involves an Agriculture Conditional-Use quarry designation, as does a request from US Stone involving property in the 1200 block of Road C. However, the Rockland request is new. The US Stone request went before Lyon County commissioners last week, drawing concerns about the announced maximum number of weekly loads versus the listed number — 10 as opposed to 50 — as well as the proposed use of certain minimum maintenance roads for the haul route.
The Planning Board meeting starts at 7 pm Wednesday at the Lyon County Courthouse Annex.
