The Kansas Department of Wildlife and Parks is looking ahead for the next several years, and it is seeking public input on its updated Kansas State Wildlife Action Plan.
The draft currently under discussion will update the state’s plan from 2015 as mandated by Congress so Kansas can remain eligible for wildlife grants. The Kansas plan, which helps policy decisions for other agencies, organizers, experts, stakeholders and other interested parties, identifies species and physical areas needing conservation and offers possible action steps.
With the 2025 draft, Wildlife and Parks wants to update conservation issues and potential actions, as well as information on outdoor recreation and education opportunities. The agency is also looking to demonstrate additional collaborations with law enforcement.
