Hot. Sticky. Windy.
That’s the weekend in a nutshell for the KVOE listening area.
Air temperatures return to the mid-90s Saturday, with peak heat index readings at or above 100 and southerly winds as high as 40 mph. A similar story is in effect for Sunday, with highs in the low 90s, heat index readings near 100 and south winds as high as 40 mph.
The conditions set up a list of heat and wind advisories for the area:
*HEAT ADVISORY: Lyon, Coffey, Morris, Osage and Wabaunsee counties until 9 pm Sunday
*WIND ADVISORY: Lyon, Chase, Morris and Wabaunsee counties from 10 am to 8 pm Saturday
