As expected, brief heavy rain fell across parts of the KVOE listening area Monday night into early Tuesday.
Current rain totals don’t indicate any flooding as a result:
*KVOE studios: 0.10 inches
*Emporia Municipal Airport: 0.08 inches
*1100 block Constitution: 0.30 inches
*Ninth and Lawrence: 0.20 inches
*10th and Weaver: 0.50 inches
*South and Sylvan: 0.30 inches
*3.5 miles west of Emporia Golf Course: 0.25 inches
Tuesday’s forecast has a decent chance of showers and storms wrapping up by late morning and then resuming by mid-afternoon., with slight to moderate chances resuming Thursday and continuing into early next week.
High temperatures will be in the low 90s through the upcoming weekend.
Meanwhile, several area roads remain closed after two rounds of flooding earlier this month.
