For the third time in the last month, Lyon County Commissioners are set to consider a conditional-use permit request from US Stone as part of their regular action meeting Thursday.
Commissioners will consider the permit request after tabling it on two separate occasions due to several questions and a desire for additional information from US Stone. The CUP will include certain conditions if approved, the details of which have not been announced.
That said, commissioners had previously requested that US Stone oversee repairs to the proposed haul route for quarry rock, add speed limitations and load limits, specifically 10 loads per week or two loads per day, as part of previous discussions on the matter.
Following discussions on the US Stone request, Commissioners will then consider a separate CUP for a quarry through Rockland Stone with conditions.
Lyon County Engineer Wayne Scritchfield will also submit a quote from Heavyquip for undercarriage repair parts for an excavator at an estimated cost of just over $14,700 to be paid from the Road and Bridge fund. Thursday’s meeting will begin at 9 am inside the Lyon County Courthouse Commission Chambers.
