ESU Football Adds Stone to Coaching Staff

Emporia State football has hired its new Stinger Back and Running Back Coach.  Blake Stone takes over for Daniel Goodman who departed the program to become the head coach at Emporia High.  Stone had previously served as offensive coordinator and offensive line coach at Gannon, a Division II program in the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference.  The Knights were 3-7 last year while going 3-3 in conference play.  In 2023 Stone coached the offensive line at Presbyterian in DI.  Stone previously had served at Gannon for two years and helped the Knights to an eight-win season in 2022 and a share of the PSAC West Division Title.  He originally coached the defensive line for the Knights.  Stone started his coaching career at Middle Tennessee State.  He played offensive line at Charleston Southern and Florida Tech.  He joins a Hornet program in search of its fourth consecutive winning season.
