Political season is starting to heat up, but we’re not talking about this year’s election cycle.
Candidates for the 2026 governor’s race have already been active, and Democrat Cindy Holscher will appear at Emporia’s St Andrews Episcopalian Church at 2 pm Saturday for a meet-and-greet.
Holscher has not officially filed, according to the Kansas Secretary of State’s website. In fact, the only candidate to file is conservative Republican talk show host Doug Billings. Secretary of State Scott Schwab and former governor and lieutenant governor Jeff Colyer, both Republicans, have announced their intentions to run for the office although neither have filed for the office at this time.
