The Emporia Recreation Commission has a special meeting next week.
Board members will meet at noon Friday to officially consider the Emporia City Commission’s request for Rec Commission matching funds to support a Community Development Block Grant request to the Kansas Department of Commerce. The total package, including state funds and potential matches from the city, Rec Commission and private sources, could be over $3 million as the Rec Commission seeks updates to the DeBauge Family Sports Complex.
The meeting is at the Lee Beran Recreation Center.
