Lyon County’s gravel road network is now almost officially restored after two rounds of flooding in June.
The Lyon County Highway Department says it has reopened nine different road segments as of 11 am Monday:
*135 from V-6 to W
*150 from N to P
*155 from F-5 to G
*160 from G to H
*E from 10 to 20
*H from 160 to 165
*V-6 from 135 to 140; from 140 to 145
*W from 123 to 135
The openings reflect flood-based damage that started June 16, as well as more widespread, more significant damage that started June 3.
The one exception is Road 145 from V-6 to Neosho Street in Neosho Rapids, which remains barricaded. The Highway Department is asking people to heed the barricades so asphalt can cure and people can use the road safely once that process is done.
