Emporia State University President Ken Hush is getting a pay raise.
Hush received a salary increase of $14,000 from $301,000 to $315,000 at a Kansas Board of Regents meeting recently. His total compensation also went up $14,000 and now stands at $370,000, a 4-percent increase over fiscal 2025.
Regent Carl Ice says CEO compensation is important for a variety of reasons.
Hush and Wichita State President Rick Muma each received 4-percent compensation increases, while Kansas State University President Richard Linton and Regents President Blake Flanders both got 5-percent increases. Fort Hays State President Tisa Mason got a 7-percent compensation increase, while University of Kansas Chancellor Doug Girod got a 12-percent increase. With a new president announced last month, there was no compensation increase approved at Pittsburg State.
Regents Director of Finance and Administration Becky Pottebaum says the adjustments were reached by consensus in executive session and reflect market data and individual CEO performance.
