Emporia State cross country has released its schedule for the 2025 season. The Hornets will run a preseason event at the ESU Alumni Run on Friday, August 29 at a course at Champions Landing. The Hornets open the regular season at the JK Gold Classic in Wichita’s Clapp Golf Course hosted by Wichita State on September 6. ESU is back in Nebraska for the second straight year as NU hosts the Greeno-Dirksen Invite in Lincoln on September 20. E-State will visit Missouri Western for the first time ever in the regular season on October 4 for the Griffon Invite before wrapping up the season on the road at the FHSU Open. It will be the first visit to Hays for the Hornet harriers since 2021. For the first time since 2020, ESU will not be hosting the ESU Invitational at Jones Park. It was scheduled but cancelled due to coronavirus that year. Prior to that, the last time Emporia State didn’t host the event was 1981. Pittsburg State will host the MIAA Championships October 25 and Missouri Southern is hosting the NCAA Central Regional November 8. The ESU men finished 10th at the 2024 MIAA Championships while the Lady Hornets ran eighth.
