With track crossing work now done in and around Neosho Rapids, most of Emporia’s track crossings will see work over the next week-plus.
Burlington Northern Santa Fe plans to start work on the Weaver Street crossing Wednesday and continue through the upcoming weekend. Starting Monday, most of Emporia’s remaining crossings will get maintenance and repairs, including:
• Carter Street
• Peyton Avenue
• East Street
• Sylvan Street
• Cottonwood Street
• Exchange Street
• Union Street
• Congress Street
Crossings at Commercial, Mechanic and Market were originally on the repair list but have been removed.
Work in and near Neosho Rapids has ended, but BNSF has announced it is closing crossings at Roads N, P and R until at least Monday.
